The luck of the Irish was upon us at our March Madness monthly meeting held at, and sponsored by, Levy Restaurants at US Airways Center. The food was fantastic; the venue bright, vibrant and unique with a lot of laughs! The topic from our speakers, Tempe's own Kathleen and Don Thoren, was "Laughter in the Workplace," and yes, they sure did prove that laughter is the best medicine for what ails ya. If you're sad and blue, laugh! If you are having troubles at work, you just have to laugh. If you are not feeling well, well just laugh! They taught us some fantastic ways to get your laugh on, my favorite was the "on the cell phone pretending you are talking to someone and just break out in laughter"...now that was funny! Another good one was the missed "high-five." OK, OK, I have done that without trying. Seriously, in these times it's important to laugh! We learned how to make that happen even when we don't want to, or think we can, or should! The Tempe CVB was the program sponsor of the month; I am so glad that my team was in attendance, and I thank them for all of their hard work on behalf of the Tempe CVB each day. I was the MC for the event, and I wowed the crowd with my wit and wisdom and some really, really bad jokes...two peanuts were walking down the street ... one was a salted ... Get it?
We were welcomed to the US Airways Center by the sights and sounds of the block-rocking beats of Foot Klan and Power 98 DJ, Tyger, sponsored by Ken Reinstein. The centerpieces were basketballs, sponsored by Jennifer Castro of Dave & Busters.
Where there is laughter, there is luck!
