Our monthly chapter meeting was held on Thursday morning, February 9th. This program was sponsored by Tempe Tourism and our host property, the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel and Conference Center.
On a typical bright and sunshiny Arizona morning, over 100 of our members gathered at 7:30 to see old friends, meet new ones and stop by the several table tops to greet our colleagues.
Promptly at 7:50 AM, we all walked into the Abbey Room and were immediately impressed with the overall décor and ambiance of the room. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous and the catering staff could not have been more pleasant and hospitable. Chapter President Rochell Planty welcomed the group, and after a few announcements, introduced our monthly Property Coordinator, Lee Smith of the Hotel Valley Ho and Program Coordinator, Edward E. Scannell.
With the Arizona Centennial just a few days away, the Monthly Program Committee, under the direction of Erin Forrest created a fun "Arizona Trivia" contest in which our attendees had to move around the room to find the answers to all the questions. It was a fun, fast way of getting our members to meet new friends.
Tempe Tourism President and CEO Stephanie Nowack was introduced as our Program Sponsor and a short upbeat video on Tempe was shown followed by brief remarks by Stephanie. Following her to the stage was John Harmon, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Mission Palms. Both Stephanie and John had several members of their staff joining us.
Our guest speaker, Colleen Rickenbacher from Dallas was introduced and gave us an entertaining and informative look at "Protocol and Etiquette."
Flash Gordon Murray with Super PhotoVideo, LLC roamed the room capturing the memorable moments of the entire program. The photos of the event can be found in the Past Events section of azmpi.org. A PDF version of the PowerPoint can be found in the Past Events section of azmpi.org.
